Paul Wylenczek is a Connecticut born visual artist, currently living
and working in Flatbush, Brooklyn. Originally interested in both street
photography and graphic design, Paul’s work combines the documentation
of the immediacy in everyday experiences and visual narrative through
photography. While also being influenced by advertising, composition and
color through his graphics background. Recently being introduced to
painting allows Paul to have a more of a hands on approach while
remaining direct and spontaneous. Paul’s interests stems from
his first love of skateboarding and the complete individual expression
that surrounded it. From personal individual style to graphics and ads
being produced,it all had an attitude of uniqueness. For Paul, the
freedom of skateboarding directly relates to 20th century expressionist
painting and the street culture of pop art. This is where Paul finds his
greatest influences, it inspires him to let loose, relax and go with
the flow on his paintings.
